My name is James Garner. I am an A&P, I.A, and a Certified Repair Station.
My qualifications are; Private Pilot, with an Instrument Rating, I have over 5,000 hours in various single engine aircraft. I am also an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic, with Inspection Authorization. I also hold a Certified Repair Stations, (12KR160C).
My history in aviation; I became a pilot in 1973, lost an engine in the dark in 1983, barely survived that and soon after received my A&P, and then my I.A. While I was achieving these I operated a construction business in Washington, DC, and it suburbs.
Moved from Maryland to Payson, Arizona in 2000 purchased an existing aircraft fueling lease and built an aircraft maintenance business, (Against The Wind). Sold that business in 2015 and moved to Chandler.
I was granted my Certified Repair Station in 2016, I limited myself to ADS-B installations and performing remote, (at your airport), CFR 91.411 and 91.413, (IFR and VFR CERTS). I have since then expanded into more avionics new installations and repairs. Most of my work comes from referrals. I am also a SASO at DVT airport.
When I am not super busy, I take on aviation projects that other mechanics will not do, or can't do. I am 83 years old and still fly.
You never know how I can help you. I do answer my phone, 928-978-0745. If I can't help you, I probably know who can. jg3@av8toravionics.com.
About 3 years ago I started mentoring mechanics teaching them the processes of good maintenance and unintended consequences of poor maintenance. This is information you can't find in books, easily. I have now gained a few part-time professionals that work with me on projects I couldn't handle by myself because of my age.
